And who invented fireworks?

But of course the Chinese!

And who LOVED the fireworks??????? Miss A. Oh did she love them. She sat in my lap and clapped. She stood up and clapped. She oohed and ahhed…she was SO SO HAPPY!!! The princess was a bit bemused…doesn’t really like the loud noises. Mum loves fireworks so at least I’ve one girl to go with me.

It was a wonderful evening. The Princess and I rushed back from her school Halloween party where I had helped out on the oh, so scarry tunnel and she had simply had a great time, to find D ready with hot choc & winter pimms in thermoses and sausages and baked potatoes in the oven. Brownies were made that morning. Our fellow picnicers were bringing more food and mulled wine. They arrived shortly after us and we all walked over to the party.

Where we live in N. London, there are large communal gardens. One is 3 acres and we have friends who live on it. Each year the Garden Committee throw a huge bonfire and fireworks display. You can buy food but its loads more fun to bring it.  We arrived, met our friends and set up camp. The kids ran off…and got lost and twice we lost one of the 8 kids in our group. But its a locked garden so all were eventually found. Loads of school friends and neighbours. A really lovely time.

And one duracell bunny…after a quick bite of lasagna when we arrived, Miss A would not stop. She knocked over the mulled wine, spilt her yoghurt on the rug and was fascinated by sparklers (no, she was not allowed one). She did, however, get fed on the sly crisps by the 2 year old!She simply was in heaven. Being up late and outside. How good was that??????

And…it gets better.

She went to bed at 9pm…and we woke first at 7am. First time since China. Yippeee!!!

Sadly not repeated last night but now she is back to teething again. However, we know she can do it. Simply a matter of when. Hopefully a bit before the next 5th of November.

And she slept through all the fireworks last night too!
